Welcome to the Open Hearth Park website. Open Hearth Park officially opened Labour Day weekend 2013. The park is adjacent to Harbourside Commercial Park and is owned and managed by Harbourside. Open Hearth Park includes a multi-use sports field with synthetic turf, a commons area, an outdoor concert venue and a playground, a bike park and dog park, and a trail network with bridges connecting downtown Sydney with the communities of Whitney Pier, Ashby and the North End. Along the winding trails are exercise equipment that is there to enjoy. As well a canteen in opened in the late spring through to November. Picnic tables and gazebos are located throughout the park to use for dining.
Throughout the park is artwork that commerates the history of the area and its people along with the history of the Sydney Steel Plant. In late spring panels will be set up in the south end of the park which will contain mobiel links to historical videos.

The park is excellent for snow shoeing or cross-country skiing in the winter. The trails are kept clear for walkers to enjoy.
Dogs are allowed in the park. Please if you walk your dog in the park have your dog on a leash and clean up after your pet. Enjoy the park!
