Welcome to the Open Hearth Park website. Open Hearth Park officially opened Labour Day weekend 2013. The park is adjacent to Harbourside Commercial Park and will be owned and managed by Harbourside. Open Hearth Park includes a multi-use sports field with synthetic turf, a commons area, an outdoor concert venue and skating area, a playground, a bike park and dog park, and a trail network with bridges connecting downtown Sydney with the communities of Whitney Pier, Ashby and the North End.

Open Hearth Park was the home to two major concerts last summer.

Action Week 2015

On August 16 families celebrated the opening of new facilities at Open Hearth Park with a free, open-air concert featuring a variety of Cape Breton talent. The concert started at 6pm in Open Hearth Park at the skating rink. The rink is located on the harbourside of Ferry Street Bridge across the street from the concession building
Cape Fest 2014
Cape Fest took place at Open Hearth Park on September 12, 2014. Cape Fest 2014 & Martin Entertainment proudly presented Rock Icon Aerosmith and Guitar Legend Slash (featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators) as Headliners for the 2014 show!
